There is an organisation called OWA. There is a muse called the Lady of Shalott. They both believe in opening the web. And both need your help. If you’ve ever wondered why you are half-sick of drop-shadow(), or why the web is cracked from side to side… your loyal knight and true is here.
Open Web Advocacy are a group of web developers who have come together to work on opening the web. We've worked with government regulators in the UK, EU, USA, Australia, Japan, and others, and we've seen (and are continuing to see) change and regulation _against_ browser and platform vendors locking down and hindering the open web, and _for_ ensuring that anyone can publish an app with the web without having to ask permission, just as the web has always promised. I am one of the founder members of OWA; here I'll talk about how we started, the successes we've had, how you can help, and what the hell the Lady of Shalott has to do with all of this.
