Session Type: Talk
If you think you know everything you need to know about date–time handling, you are almost certainly wrong. If you think you don’t, you are almost certainly right. Come along to this talk to find out just wibbly-wobbly our grasp of time is.
Time... in our code we can capture from the past and from the future, we tidy it into data structures, snapshotting it into databases and watch its sands trickle through our APIs. It's all nice and logical, right?
Sadly not. If you think you know everything you need to know about date–time handling, you are almost certainly wrong. If you think you don’t, you are almost certainly right.
In this talk we'll have some fun by looking at some of the not-quite-right assumptions we hold and and learn from the messes that w̶e̶ other people have made.
We are looking for sponsors!
Sponsors make this conference possible, we're actively looking for people to support!
