Tech Mids

Colinda Latour

After more than 20 years working in technology and information environments, I reached a plateau in my own self-development and realised I wanted more love in my very corporate, tech-filled life. So I created a 31-day experiment and set out to complete ten intentional acts of love every day. What began as a personal challenge became a way of living, then my book Living in Love, and ultimately the foundation of the Love Action Methodology I now teach and coach.

Today, as an internationally accredited self-love coach, I work particularly with women in tech who are navigating the internal pressure, second-guessing and difficulty switching off that I recognise from my own years in the industry.

Love in the Machine: The Human Upgrade Tech Is Missing

Session Type: Talk

Tech taught us to debug systems, optimise performance and solve the impossible. But what happens when the system under pressure is us? After 20+ years in tech, I found an unexpected upgrade: love. Through science, stories and laughter, discover 3 Love Actions to change how you work under pressure.

I think tech has a love problem.

Yes, love.

In an industry obsessed with upgrading systems, improving performance and adopting the next technology, we’ve overlooked one of the most powerful technologies we already have: the human capacity to intentionally change how we show up for ourselves and each other.

After 20+ years working in tech and information environments, I left to become an internationally accredited self-love coach. What I discovered changed how I think about pressure, performance and the way we work.

Love belongs in tech.

Not group hugs around the server rack. Practical actions for very real tech moments.

The meeting where your heart races before you speak.
The message you rewrite six times before pressing Send.
The security incident where everyone is communicating at 100mph.
The evening when your laptop shuts down, but your brain doesn’t.

In this interactive session, I’ll introduce the Love Action Methodology and we’ll put three tiny actions to the test:

Heart Breathing to reset when pressure hijacks your clear thinking.

Send Love Into the Room to change how you enter meetings, difficult conversations and high-pressure interactions.

The Appreciation Ping to create the tiny human interactions that shape team culture.

We’ll explore the science behind why these actions can influence our state, behaviour and interactions, and challenge the assumption that relentless internal pressure is simply part of working in tech.

You’ll leave with three tools you can use on Monday morning, including one that takes less time than waiting for Teams to load.

No 47-slide training deck. No vague advice to “practise more self-care.” And nobody has to hug the person sitting next to them.

Just a provocative question:

What if one of the upgrades tech needs most isn’t artificial intelligence, but intentional love?
